The Test Rig: The Levitator was mounted to an optics table. The decibel meter was mounted to an linear stage (out of view) to allow me to move the meter precisely within the sound pressure field

As a cumulative project for "Experimental Physics" in the spring of 2023, I did a systematic analysis of the TinyLev acoustic levitation platform. The TinyLev has antiparallel parabolic arrays of ultrasonic transducers to create standing waves that can support lightweight objects. I measured the sound pressure field created by an acoustic levitator using off the shelf audio and optics equipment. I analyzed the sound pressure fields created by different arrangements of 72 transducers and explored the limits of the devices capabilities.
